Winter 2011

*Winter Inductions will be completed during NHS's Completion Ceremony on Saturday December 17th at 2pm at Gaston Hall at Georgetown University. Due to space limitations, the ceremony is by invitation only.

 

Spring 2011

 

*Spring Inductions are scheduled for Thursday, May 19th at 5pm. Location to be determined.  We hope to see all our members there to welcome the new members into our Tau community!

 

 *The Georgetown School of Nursing and Health Studies will also be celebrating Commencement for the Class of 2011 at 3pm on the Front Lawn at Georgetown University. All our welcome to attend to congratulate the Class of 2011 on their success!

*On October 6, 2010 the Tau Chapter sponsored a forum on health care reform at Georgetown University for the Sigma community, Georgetown students, and Georgetown University Hospital nurses. Speaking at the forum were Interim Dean of the Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies and President of Tau Chapter, Jeanne Matthews, and Dennis McIntyre, Associate Medical Director at Georgetown University Hosptial. Fall 2009

Both Diana Mason, PhD, RN, FAAN and Jamesetta Newland, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP, FNAP conducted a Writing for Publication workshop for faculty and PhD nursing students on November 9, 2009. Twenty-two participants from Georgetown, Catholic University and Washington Hospital Center attended the event which was co-sponsored by Georgetown University Department of Nursing, the Tau Chapter (Georgetown University) and Kappa Chapter (Catholic University) of Sigma Theta Tau.  Participants responded that the presentation was engaging, delivered in a passionate and motivating way, excellent and useful.  The Tau Chapter hopes to collaborate on additional presentations in the future with our hospital, university and community colleagues.
